The Story Of Us

I recently celebrated my 14th wedding anniversary in July and this fun layout was inspired by leftover toille fabric that had been used in a home decor project. I also did a pink and gray wedding page with some pictures from our wedding. The vintage look is easily achieved with a Jenni Bowlin bingo card, calendar card, and adorable chipboard buttons. Crepe paper is always a fun addition to a scrapbook page and if you dont happen to have any on hand a great place to find it is at the local dollar store. Tim Holtz tickets always add a great touch as well I also like to spray them with Tattered Angels glimmer mist to add a great color and sparkle. I am so blessed to be married to such an amazing man! Have a wonderful evening.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist

Lots of Tattered Angels goodness on the lime and turquoise layout. Used sea glass and Lime Twist Glimmer Mist and Alpha Chips which are super cute and so easy to use. You can use it all together or break it up and make each piece a different color, so much fun! Love the Tim Holtz swirl and lots of Prima Flowers and a Heidi Swapp flower sprayed with Glimmer Mist. I adore the Heidi Swapp Invisibles chipboard bird, and when you spray it with Glimmer Mist it shows the dots, I really love this effect. Also sprayed Glimmer Mist on the Heidi Swapp Invisibles chipboard paper to reveal a grid motif, and I'm really liking that too.
This layout is of my daughter from last year's school picture. Used Jazz Blue Glimmer Mist on some cardboard for the matt under her picture. Also used it on the flower that I cut using my slice. Love the vintage music sheets, which I was lucky enough to find a ton of at a local used bookstore!
The Glimmer Mist looks ethereal on the Tattered Angels Glimmer Chips. I used Jenni Bowlin papers and a calendar card. I'm feeling the vintage vibe...some ink and distressing on the edges for that antique look!!! It can be so hard to find products here, as I live in a small town and the closest Michaels is 40 minutes away so I have to order most of my supplies from online stores or through ebay and etsy. Sometimes I just get creative and recycle something or use what I have (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, that huge stash of unused supplies, lol) I've found some of the online stores like Scrapbook.com , Blue Moon Scrapbooking (the owners are fantastic) and Two Peas in a Bucket to be really helpful as well. Hmm, seems I have to think about dinner soon, so have a great night and thanks for looking!!!

This Place Is a Zoo mini book

I did this mini book in July using the cutest line from K & Company called Actopus to Zelephant. What an adorable line, it truly has it all from paper, stickers, and animal flashcards, to the cutest little mix and match album that reminds me of books I had as a child where you can mix up the animals. The zoo we went to was The Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York what a beautiful place. The kids loved it and there were so many animals to see! This book was easy and fun to make. I am a traditional scrapper and do everything by hand and don't really have a style per se. I love so many different styles and techniques so I scrap from my heart to preserve precious memories. I just like to share and am always up for trying new products or ideas!!! I always keep handy my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and Tim Holtz ink to give that vintage look. I try to stay up to date with the latest trends and tools but at heart will always have some old school scrapbooking in me. Still love paper stacks and little Prima Flowers but so addicted to bingo cards and vintage ephemera. Its amazing what things you can incorporate into your pages and projects by just looking around your house or the grocery store or even the dollar store. In these tough financial times you have to stretch your scrap dollar and sometimes you have to get creative instead of purchasing that package of embellishments for seven dollars. Some of my best ideas can come out of that sacrifice, but I always seem to find a way to splurge on the companies and products that I love by cutting corners with other must haves. Whats a girl to do, right? Lol...hope to have a nice pool day, today its gorgeous right now in Upstate New York!

Tattered Angels album before photos and embellishments are added

Wow! So much fun to make this album using lots of great travel and beach papers and Glimmer Mist in Riptide and Jazz Blue. I inked the embossing to make the elements pop as well as inking my page edges and am really happy with the look I achieved. I used a Heidi Swapp world map with riptide Glimmer Mist on one of the fold out pages, I think it looks pretty cool. Thanks for taking a peek!

New at this.

Okay, so not quite sure how all this works yet but I managed to post some pics, however not exactly sure yet how to write with it!?! Lol. Some products that I used in the Melissa Frances layout were a sprayed cardboard piece from a taco kit with sea glass Glimmer Mist (reuse/recycle, how green am I?) plus I used Melissa Frances packaging on the layout as well ...love the Tim Holtz tickets, and the Melissa Frances rhinestones and journaling spot. It was so much fun to make, I just love beach themed layouts!

This is the layout that was featured on the Melissa Frances blog on July 22!!!

Well I did it !!!!

Well my new motto these days is try new things and don't be afraid to try them, so here I am. I have always wanted to start a blog about my favorite hobby, scrapbooking. I'm not sure what I will talk about or what it is I have to offer just yet, but I'm thinking discovering that will be half the fun, right? I have to mention I'm so excited about all the new CHA products that are showing up all over, but then I love so many of the great scrapbooking companies out there so how's a girl to choose? I've gotta share a few of my personal favorites...totally addicted to Tattered Angels anything! Be it their glimmer mist , bingo cards or albums, it's all fantastic stuff. I'm currently working on a cruise album using the Tattered Traveler Album, and how cute is it that it's shaped like a compass?! So clever. I also love Pink Paislee, and I just ordered the new Halloween line Twilight. I cant wait for it to arrive, so I can check it out. Of course, Melissa Frances is the queen of vintage goodies! Her stuff is gorgeous and so well made I was so excited to have a layout featured on her blog...I almost passed out! Her Bingo card album is stunning, I just can't wait to do a mini book of vintage photos, so super cute! Love Cosmo Cricket, I want all of their new lines they are so much fun and so easy to work with. I'm sad Heidi Swapp didn't come out with new product this time but hopefully she will continue with her line she is the greatest and her stuff is always something I use. I will wrap it up with Jenni Bowlin, wow her lines rock! So versatile and so cute I always have to have her products on hand for so many projects she is so creative and inspiring. Okay, I will stop there, because I could go on all day! Lol! I will post some pics, I hope you enjoy my blog!
